My first mural artwork of the year was to revive my Desi Girl in Brick Lane which is situated on the shutters of the old Dark Sugars chocolate shop on the corner of Brick Lane and Hanbury Street in the centre of Shoreditch. Originally painted with the WOM Collective organised by Carleen De Souza and Not Banksy Forum mine and Elno’s pieces were finally in need of a new year touch up. Elno did a completely new piece but I decided to update mine as the piece has been so popular and is a representation of the demographic of the area which is arguably being forced out due to gentrification of the area. The updated Desi Girl is more dynamic and colourful than before with a bright green sari and vibrant makeup
